Morocco

MSC cruise liners call at the country of Morocco, a country located in North Africa during our Mediterranean cruise itineraries.

As well as being the gateway to Africa, this French-speaking country is a crossroads where East meets West and the influence of Romans, Arabs and Europeans makes for an exciting and dynamic cultural mix.

The capital of Morocco is not, as many believe, Marrakech, but Rabat, which is situated on the Atlantic Ocean, although Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city. Countries neighbouring Morocco include Mauritania in the south and Algeria to the east.

Visitors are always enchanted by Morocco’s architecture, the riad houses with their mosaics and courtyards and the Moorish styles. The enchanting medinas (old towns) and Kasbahs (markets) with colourful, exotic wares displayed under skies full of sunshine make Morocco a perfect holiday destination.

Our cruise ships call at the city of Casablanca, which has a deservedly world-wide reputation for its romance and exoticism. With MSC Cruises you can choose to explore the historic cities or take full advantage of the diverse daytrips in our excursion packages to enjoy the best deals on exciting outings into the desert and further inland.

Moroccan cuisine is one of the most exciting in the Mediterranean; be sure to sample a tagine, couscous dishes and kebabs as well as the honeyed traditional pastries and mint tea whilst on vacation here.
